WE REALLY NEED YOUR ASSISTANCE! We have been richly blessed to have some amazing donations coming into our New Warehouse Home. Truckloads of: Food, Hygiene Items, Used & New Furniture, and numerous other items. In fact, some of these Donations we would not have been able to receive; without God blessing our ministry with this New Home. We pick up most of these items with dedicated MOH Volunteers in our MOH Trucks. We then take them on other days, to the Ministry Centers & Elementary School Resource Centers; for them to in turn, distribute to where they are most needed. WE NEED SOME NEW VOLUNTEERS, FOR THESE TASKS.
We are also in the process of preparing our New Home, for our upcoming Open House (the date is yet to be determined). We are doing the following tasks: Painting, Landscaping, Light Carpentry, and some other Tasks. WE NEED SOME VOLUNTEERS FOR THESE TASKS.
Some of you have been wanting to assist us, now that we are at our New Home. We truly could use your assistance. Here are some ideas to consider:
-A Service Day Project For Your Company Employees
-A Service Day Project For Your Civic Club
-A Service Day Project For Your Sunday School Class
-A Service Day Project For Your Men's Group, Or Women's Group, Or Youth Group
-A Service Day, Just For Yourself

TRH is in need of a group of 8-12 mentors to begin serving in April/May. If you are interested in this opportunity please visit the website at www.therestorationhouse.net to learn more about volunteering as a mentor. TRH is also seeking churches willing to post the need for mentors in their newsletter and/or bulletins. The Amachi Program is a program which provides mentors for children of prisoners in our area. The word Amachi is a Nigerian word which means “Who knows what God has brought us through this child?” We are always in need of caring adults, age 19 and older, who would be willing to spend one hour a week for one year being a special friend (mentor) to a child of a prisoner. There are over 800 of these children in the Knoxville area and the results which have come from these children having mentors is amazing. If there is anyone interested is helping to make a real difference in the life of a child and has just one hour a week to spend doing it, please call Linda Williams at (865) 524-2774 X103, or e-mail to lwilliams@klf.org.
Lonsdale Elementary Big Brother Big Sister Program
Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Tennessee (BBBS) provides children support, guidance, friendship and fun by matching them with positive adult role models. We have been serving the community for more than three decades. Bigs and Littles have fun together and create memories that last a lifetime- we call it “Little Moments...Big Magic.”
Research points to a powerful lasting impact on the lives of young people who are mentored. Children that have a Big Brother or Sister are:
- 52% less likely to skip school
- 46% less likely to begin using illegal drugs
- Less likely to use violence
- More likely to get along with family and peers
You can add a little magic to your life by volunteering as a school-based mentor at Lonsdale Elementary. It only takes 30 minutes to an hour a week to make a BIG difference. Call today...because it’s not about telling children how to live, it’s about showing them. For more information contact Kara Finger at Big Brothers Big Sisters (523-2179 ext. 14) or Susan Bryant, Campus Manager at Lonsdale Elementary (300-1584).
